Well this year is starting off good as far as my "journey" goes. I'm slowly getting back into my fitness groove.
One of my goals this year is to lose at least 4lbs a month. So far I have done just that. My thyroid and PCOS are now controlled at this moment, and my will power is slowly starting to evolve again.
my workouts have changed a bit.I have added a personal trainer to my work out regimen. I was hoping he was someone with a loud mouth and would yell at me like Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser, But he is just the opposite. He is a very quiet guy, but knows what he's doing and somehow gets me to do the exercises without too much complaining from me. It is a nice change to my regular routine. I have also started some yoga. Let me tell you, it looks easy, but it's HARD AS HELL! On a more positive note, Yoga has helped my flexibility and my balance a lot, and it has helped strengthen my upper body more.
A few weeks ago I challenged a few fellow workout friends to give up one thing in their diet for one week. BUT for everything they gave up they had to add something in. Well I chose to give up bread AND cheese ( I have no idea what possessed me to do both of those in the same week, but never again!) I made it through that week without bread or cheese. But I added more greens and more water. Turns out I lost 3 pounds that week. so the following week I gave up just bread that worked out well. I lost another pound. It goes to show how bread can affect your diet. Even whole wheat. not to mention, I eat a lot of it.
Now my newest adventure is I signed up for my first ever race. A stair climb.(50 flights, 1,088 steps!) It's to help raise money for those who suffer from the many different lung diseases. My dad passed from emphysema and COPD. this was the perfect chance for me to do something in his memory. The easy part was signing up. Then I had to begin training for it. A group of us started meeting up near our local high school and climbing a set of 35 steps 31 times. So I figured since I would of never started to train for this had I not signed up for it, maybe I should just sign up for a 5k so I have no other choice but to train for it. Well, June 16th is my 1st ever 5k! I can't wait! I'm looking forward to this spring!
I must go sign off now, I am meeting up with my team to do some stair training with in a little bit!
